Okay, yes the EES thing is in effect now, but it's just their new system for processing entries/exit, by fingerprinting and taking pictures upon entry, and then doing a picture again to confirm exit. There is no cost and you don't need to do anything in advance.

As it says, not active until 4th quarter 2026. They have delayed it multiple times. I'll bet they delay it again and start it in early 2027.

Do US citizens need EES in March 2026 to enter European countries? I am getting conflicting info and some says that Apr 10, 2026 is the start date and others that it has already started.
