So did I. At age 44. I have raised that child successfully to adulthood.

We had our first at age 41 after several IVF rounds over 18 mos. Do whatever you think is best, but donors really are an option.

I’m sorry, OP! You can still have a baby in your 40s. Sometimes requires donor eggs but it’s possible. You know your situation best. Bless you. Sending warmth.

I know that is a sad move. But brave, too. Thank you for telling us.

I adopted a healthy newborn at age 46, as a single woman. There are options.

if this is what you want have a child by yourself... even use donor eggs if you have to. The SMBC community is super strong in the DC area and you are not too old.

I'm sorry -- it's tough. But at 55 I'm on the other side of this and at this point I'm actually glad I didn't have children. A few years ago I finally donated some little onesies I'd bought almost 20 years ago.

Have you ever thought of being a single mom? I did mini-IVF at age 43. I delivered healthy identical twin boys at age 45. I used donor sperm. I only had 2% chance according to my fertility clinic, so I knew going in that it was a long shot. I only got 3 eggs, and 2 didn't work. The last one worked. I was prepared to do adoption if it didn't work. There are options. Good luck with your journey. You can also look into being a foster mom too. Wish you the best.

Not all of them did, but enough was still there I was still adding to but up until a few years ago around COVID. Working on the new dream now.

What's the new dream?

Oh, OP. Everyone's timeline is different. Just go at your own pace. There is no wrong move here.

I made it 12 years ago when I was still hopeful I'd be a mom. I picked out my favorite outfits, books, toys carriers and nursery decor bottles etc I'm 41 now approaching 42 and currently not even in a relationship now. I think I'm finally ready to start accepting I'll never be a mom .
