No. Former Marine or Marine veteran. He's not a Retired Marine if his last rank held was Captain (O-3). Unless he really got busted down at the end of his career.

Once a Marine always a Marine.

There is no ex-Marine.

This. But I wouldn’t date him for marriage. He has all the downsides of a military veteran without retirement benefits.

I’ve dated military. It’s not a great culture. I can guarantee he’s done things with strippers, hookers, etc that would shock you. It’s pretty common that military guys send each other the most disturbing porn imaginable for fun.

The last time I dated a military guy, he was a captain and I thought a really great guy, seemed above all the grossness. But then I found out things about him that proved he’s just like every other military guy.

I would run.

He could have been prior enlisted.

A lot of them are narcissistic poon hounds. I guarantee he's gone through 10 other women like you.

How many divorces and kids does he have?

Why??

Anyone who makes a post like this is seriously immature. As is the little giddy "I want his babies!"

He is 47, slightly overweight but so…intelligent, interesting and a gentleman.

He has been out in the world, seen and done things. There is depth to him but also a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

Currently he works in academia.

I’m smitten. I think I want his babies.

Any downsides to this that I should consider?
