I once worked at a place thst needed holiday coverage and we scheduled our holiday leave a year out for that reason, but you could trade with somebody if you needed to. 100% attendance is not a realistic expectation: people have lives.

Same. The company gives me a certain amount of PTO per year and expects me to use it.

We don’t really “ask” — rather, we flag when we are taking PTO after lining up coverage.

Are you a contractor or bill directly to client. This might mean the don’t want to have any charges to overhead, which is a bad sign
