New vanity, toilet, toilet, and other building materials will cost you around $3000-$4000 assuming you’re going to Lowe’s/floor and decor/wayfair and nothing super high end. $12k is probably fair for labor if you’re not going with a big company. We redid our bathroom ourselves for $5000 and 2 weeks of work.

$3-4K wouldn’t make it for materials. I redid our 8x5 bathroom last summer - new pedestal sink, toilet, tub and floor, plus tiling over where they broke the tiles to remove the old tub. The materials and fixtures were $3K for low-end tiles and mid-range fixtures. For what OP is asking, she is probably looking at closer to $8K. The shower body+fixture alone will easily be $1000. A nice glass door for the walk in is another grand or more.

Yep. People are way overpaying - this is the range.

I asked our mediocre GC who gives us great prices for all the work we've needed done to date (rebuilt a part of our structure, redid the siding, rebuilt the deck). He quoted $10,000 for the powder room, $50,000 for a smaller full bath, and $100,000 for our large master bath.

If you ask around and don’t go with a big name company you can find places that will do a master for 20-25k. One of our neighbors found a random company and since then several others have used them with good results.

I would say $40 - $80K based on our experience in a McMansion.

Depends on the size. $20-50k.

We just redid a small bathroom for about 15k. Replaced what was there and did tile floors, tub shower combo with new tile, new vanity, new toilet, painted and added wainscoting.

We just did ours a few months ago. Lots of variables but this is a good ballpark number IMO. Could make choices possibly to be slightly less, and obviously can always spend more.

I'm somewhat handy, but I won't do anything that might involve hidden plumbing/water. So I wouldn't want to work on the shower-tub replacement.

I say this seriously, PP. It cost us $8000 just to rebuild a shower (we had to take it down to the studs due to a leak), and that was 3 years ago.

Realistically, how much are we looking at spending. to redo our bathroom. We have a standard, 10 x 6 primary bath that we want to "remodel." By remodel i man swap out the tub for a walk in shower, new double vanity, new toilet, retile, and add a door. We shouldn't need to move in plumbing. Think finishes somewhere between midtier and low luxury. I know there's wide variance, but what price range is reasonable in Fairfax?
