US news rankings aren’t really relevant to most kids. I believe Villanova and GW are tied for 57, but if you look at the academic stats of Villanova they are far stronger than GW’s.

Ok I’ll be more real than the previous PP’s. It’s white wealthy and quasi smart but not nearly the top 5% of their HS’s.

Excellent school for smart, career oriented kids who like sports/school spirit. It has that great medium size that is difficult to find and the location is excellent, in a high end older suburb with plenty of local conveniences and easy rail access to Philly. Alum network is very strong in the region and it is a first choice school for a lot of kids. Not just a Philly area thing but now really popular in the NYC metro.

My DD loves it. We’re not Catholic. Perfect size.

Our DD was accepted but the price is hard to swallow without merit.

They actually don’t track demonstrated interest.

It's a great school. Might skew a tiny bit more toward pre-law and business, but I can't say that for sure.

At DS’s Jesuit HS there’s virtually zero overlap between BC & Villanova applicants.

DP. FWIW, there is a TON of overlap at our Catholic HS.

Villanova is on a major roll: they've recently acquired TWO adjacent campuses, have great programs, a fun basketball team, and a pope alumnus.

Acceptance rates have plummetted in the past decade (started well before the NCAAs or the pope), and it's harder than ever to qualify for merit.

Most kids have been raised Catholic.

New poster. My junior loved Villanova when we visited. Can you share where he did get merit?

OP, we have a good friend who loves it. He says that there is lots of school spirit. It think it's great size, with bright kids who seem pretty happy to be there.
