OP. Price is somewhat flexible, but DS will not want anything too fancy. He likes bbq, wings, etc. I’m trying to make this something that he will love and not something I myself would choose. Some of his friends will join as well.

We would like to be able to serve drinks to the adults there and also don’t want to worry about weather, so an indoor space is preferred. Thanks!

Well, are you talking about Ruston, Fairfax city, Chantilly? Are you willing to drive anywhere within Fairfax County!? That’s what we mean by more details.

Oh, I see, I thought that was clear - Fairfax itself, not Fairfax County generally. Any location that has Fairfax as an address is ok. I guess Annandale or Burke would also be ok, but not farther than that.

Agree that PJ Skidoo’s is the classic choice.

Fire station #3 is probably more fun for a younger crowd. If you’re including grandparents or older relatives, the parking situation might make it inconvenient, though. Here’s the link

PJ Skidoos is the classic choice. You can host a private event at a relatively reasonable cost and they don't charge for the room.

Signed, a WTW grad who has been to PJ Skidoos for many an event...

Greenbriar Community Center (on Stringfellow Rd near Fair Lakes). Not sure about alcohol, but worth an ask!

What level of niceness do you want, OP? There are private rooms at upscale restaurants that could handle this size group, but you are correct in that it would get expensive. On the other end of the spectrum is renting a picnic pavilion at a park and getting catering from something like Lebanese Taverna or Chipotle (bring your own beverages).

Thinking it would be a 2-3 hour period with food and drinks. Maybe 50 people, could be more, but I doubt they would all be there at the same time. I prefer not to host at home but I also know hosting somewhere could get out of hand pricewise. DS would like something not too stuffy. He doesn't want it the actual graduation weekend, so this would be another weekend in the summer.

We went to a wonderful gathering at a local vineyard last year, but it is too far from our house (and also, is it odd to have a HS grad party at a winery or am I being old?).
