Does it feel Catholic? Or is it like Georgetown where many students are not Catholic and it’s kinda in name only?

We visited and liked the character of the school and the things that they talked about and focused on.

Ultimately, my kid decided it was too small for them and they wanted a larger state school experience. But I think my husband wanted to go there after the visit!

My daughter looked at this school. From what I gathered, the night life is bar scene to bars in Baltimore/fake IDs.

I was a bit disappointed in the merit aid from Loyola. DD had a 4.3 weighted, test optional- great ECs etc and she was offered $38K, so the COA was still $39K +. DD ended up at William and Mary (in state) instead.

Loyola has a gorgeous campus!

Based on my son's experience, that is actually a pretty good merit aid package. My son applied to a few similar school and the price was usually just above 40,000. I think the only way the price gets lower is if you qualify for need based aid. Maybe I am wrong?

No, you’re right. My understanding is that in 2026 merit awards at any school rarely bring the total cost of attendance price below $40 k. Obviously full tuition scholarships are the exception.

Great school. On Jeff Selingo's new Dream School list with some impressive career stats. Top ranked lax program. Pretty campus. Lots of good merit. Jesuit. Def worth a visit.

My son is a current student and I’m an alum. He loves it and he was a B student in HS. I think he had a 3.1 when he applied. Went TO.

OP here, I found the recent thread I missed. Sounds like exactly the type of school we are looking for!

Lots of threads. Its a lovely school, very good at preparing kids for the professional world while also providing a solid liberal arts education. Very friendly and good spirit.
