Mount Olivet had a 5 day 5s program. It’s especially for kids like this that are being redshirted.

Thank you! Can I ask how much religion was part of the curriculum and whether you were already part of the Episcopal community?

I ask as I'm not religious and would prefer a non church affiliated center but have not ruled it out.

They do do a weekly chapel but a vast majority of the kids who attend the preschool are not affiliated with the church. We were not church goers at all (lapsed Catholics, agnostic) and the level didn’t bother us. I will say that it is a super liberal inclusive church—very much all are welcome and they mean it. We have since optionally gone to services a few times since DD “graduated” and it is most definitely nothing like what my Catholic upbringing!

I would check out the threads on Goddard and Bright Horizons over on the preschool board. I think people have voiced concern about those organizations.

Trinity Presbyterian in Arlington has had a junior kindergarten class in the past. They offer 5 days a week, and school is over at 1 (so it's not full day, if that's what you're looking for). I don't know if they have aftercare these days.

It's very light on religion- there's a Christmas concert and I think they do an Easter egg hunt, but it doesn't come up in the classroom.

Looking for transitional kindergarten programs in the Arlington area. By transitional kindergarten I mean something like preschool for 5 year olds.

My child will turn 5 a few days before the cutoff so technically will qualify for kindergarten but will benefit from another year.

Would appreciate if anyone who's aware of any programs to drop a note. If you have any experience with a specific program I'd love that feedback as well

(Tried to post this yday but doesn't seem like it posted - apologies if I'm mistaken and this is a duplicate)
