I told him I liked having the house to myself, and he made the joke - "yeah cause I bother you all day". But he actually does. I feel like the older I get, the more annoyed by him I become. I really do want to be alone. Like it's my favorite thing to do now. I need more alone time, but I prefer to be home when I'm alone. How do I get him and the kids out of the house more??? I feel like everything I say to him, he gets overly sensitive about.

Go to a coffee shop to get away from DH, or just tell him you have a meeting. I am assuming you aren’t content being alone in a room, you want free rein of the house with no one there. Every parent craves that, few get it.

Make a fair deal so one day of the week, you work from a cafe or library and one day he would. This way both of you get house to yourself for a day.
