If you are group C while boarding, there is a good chance that you will have a gate checked bag.

I have all kinds - I like something easy to spot. I put a phone number outside and tuck another with an address label and phone numbers, email address inside the luggage.

I got ones printed with my dog's photo on them and engraved with my initials and phone number, no address.

All luggage marked by printed duct tape in the same design. It is big enough and distinctive enough that no one will be running away with your luggage. Too conspicuous.

Contact info - phone, email, home address - printed in large print on an A4 paper and put inside with the luggage.

A picture of each piece of luggage on my phone - so that it is easy to spot the printed duct tape. Otherwise, all my luggage is silver gray samsonite and without the duct tape - it will be hard to identify.

Bright, unique color so it’s easy to pick out of a crowd. I only list my cellphone. Never bothered with my address. Then I throw an AirTag in the suitcase.

I typically use the one that comes with the luggage (built into the top of the luggage) and then a colorful one that shows personality. Colorful luggage tags help others to not steal your luggage by mistake.

I'm worth a lot of millions, have lived in the same home for years, and still mostly use the paper airline ones. If you don't want those, just invest in some quality leather tags with cardstock inside in which you can write out your address and phone number. If you move, you can change the cardstock.

I have usually just gone with the tidgy paper ones available at the check-in desk, but now that I have bought a house (so will be staying at one address for longer), I wanted to get some nice luggage tags. I was advised to list just a phone number or email address by a better traveled friend.

What’s your advice?
