I do temporary tattoos, stickers, a snack item. No toys. For older kids, a fun pencil/eraser/mini notebook.

1 snack-sized packet of goldfish, one individually packed ring pop, 1 individual pack of rice krispy treat, 1 snack pack of pringles.
Put it in a brown paper lunch bag. Clip it to a helium inflated "happy birthday" mylar balloon from dollar tree.
Use all the balloons with brown paper goody bags tied to them as a party treat, table decor, back ground decor for group pics.

Is there a theme for the party? For us the favor was usually tied to the activity (we did a lot of home parties). For example: We once hosted an “adopt a dog” party and they went home with the stuffed dog, a little bouncy ball for the dog, and the “collar” (aka bracelet) they made with beads.

The ONLY good favor we've ever received is a book.

Are there party favors that are actually nice and not cheap garbage? Planning my kid's birthday party (he's turning 5) and I don't want to fill a bag with plastic junk or candy. Last year we did stickers, mini notepads, some mini bubbles, but as a parent, I get tired of him coming home from parties with stuff that breaks in a day, not to mention the environmental impact.
