When we do get to the point of AI super intelligence we're going to have bigger problems than this. Just sayin'

IMO, like most things, AI will enhance. I really don't see it taking over everything.

Right.. Their jobs are the ones at risk from this. Lawyers and doctors will be cleaning up the mess Ai made.

Sure. Let’s trust a person who makes his money from AI when he insists AI is the only economical path forward.

I often feel like a physician had to spend a lot of time and training just to recite to me something that can be retrieved with google. A lot of day to day medicine IS rote. I think it will transform the profession, but I don't think that means we won't need doctors! But I do think some of them will have jobs that look different.

That might be true, but instead of needing 10 radiologists, they now need 1 to sign off final approval.

OP here. I work as an IT contractor for a federal agency, and our agency is cutting back on the number of contractor head count by about 33%. They will use that money to invest in AI, just saying.

Clearly you haven't worked extensively with AI.

My DS and DD are in first year of medical school with student loan debt at public universities, and this really scares me. My younger brother is working for an AI company specializing in radiology that can do a much better job than a radiologist.
