Sadly, my former doctor did not recommend anything and I knew very little about the seriousness of the disease at the time. My osteopenia turned into osteoporosis.
I’ve taken Fosomax since 2022, increased my body weight to have a BMI of 18+, lifted weights, and took BoneUp calcium with vitamins K and D.
I prob got this due to a digestive disorder that caused malnutrition.
Current doc said to take the supplements. I would not listen to people who say they do not work because maybe they took them with coffee or not often enough, etc.
Building bone takes a long time but it is worth it not to die from a broken hip.

After 2 years, doc said my DEXA showed an increase in bone. He said it is like my bones are two years younger.
My next DEXA is this month. Doc said if report is good I can go off the medicine. Then we will keep an eye on things to see if I ever need to get back on the medicine.
I am very glad I took Fosomax.
I will have my next DEXA this month. Insurance covers them for every two years.
