Peabody is expensive, and you're partly paying for access to the community through available musicianship classes (at extra cost), more frequent recital opportunities, in-house competitions, an internal exam sequence, etc. If you are just thinking about the quality of the teaching at lessons, it is no more special at Peabody than what you could find from experienced, performance degreed teachers with their own studios, but you do have access to more of these extra features I mentioned. Peabody is also best for those students who can thrive with a very traditional, stricter approach.

We are new to Baltimore and having a kid in need of a piano teacher. My kid has been playing for 4 years and has gift in it. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Btw Peabody private lesson is expensive to us. 45 minutes for $102? Our current teacher charges around $80.
