Hiking in cashmere seems like the ultimate rich person flex. I remember when I saw cashmere lounge clothes on Oprah and thought that was a flex but hiking is even more so!

I like Talbots v-neck cashmere sweaters. I think they hold up better than my LLBean cashmere. They go on sale frequently.

Cashmere always pills over time and is not generally a hiking fabric.

Are you thinking of merino? Merino is perfect for hiking and also looking great.

I would like to buy a high quality vee neck cashmere sweater to use for layering and hiking. Not for anything fancy.

I bought one a few years ago from LLBean (different color) and it pilled fairly quickly. I would like to avoid that with the new purchase. From the little I know, quality depends on how long the fibers are. Shorter fibers don’t last as long.

Any recommendations?
