This house is hideous. I can't believe they're asking $2.8m for something so ugly. No wonder it hasn't sold.
It looks like it sold for $2.2m in 2024. So someone got very greedy trying to get massive appreciation in under two years.

Yeah, that's a really weird one. It was a larger lot with a single home at a bend in Kenmore and they squeezed two giant homes on it now (this is one of them). So two monster houses squeezed into an odd triangle.

Oh I love that house. Great curb appeal. Wish nova builders would build more houses like that instead of McFarmhouse or McTransitional. Do you know who the builder was?
It was built by McNamara Builders (https://www.mcnamarabuilders.net/work/mclean-house) but, and this is crucial, designed by actual architects (Anne Decker Architects, https://www.annedeckerarchitects.com) instead of a volume home builder who has a few stock McMansion plans they cycle through.
Again, I don't know what it cost to build but it was $1M to buy the lot and when I walked through it you could tell it was on a whole other level of quality. I think they overbuilt for the neighborhood because it was intended to be their forever home and resale didn't matter. A builder doing spec homes would go broke in no time if they built to that quality, unfortunately.
Thanks PP. Beautiful home!
