It's true that many sports are highly competitive and difficult to make. However, there are some no-cut options, such as cross country and track, which allow anyone interested to participate.

Both of my daughters moved from FCPS to Visi, and there was certainly an adjustment period due to the noticeably heavier workload. They had to adapt to doing homework almost every day and figure out how to manage their time, especially while playing sports.

My DD is in 10th. A few girls came from Deal and Latin and were extremely strong students especially in math.

Without any hooks and legacy, what do you think tipped the scales in your DD’s favor? DD will be applying next year and looking to hear from others experiences to decipher if she has a shot at acceptance without any of these advantages.
