Not to be a jerk but just like at the privates, many of these Ivy admits from DCPS and charters are legacies.

I know 4 off the top of my head from the ones listed above. Kids going to Yale, Cornell, Brown, Penn.

The kids are very smart, they did extremely well but the tip of the scale is the fact that a parent attended the institution.

Just something to keep in mind when crediting a high school for a college outcome. It's not just DMV private school kids who are mostly hooked matriculants to the top universities.

If this is surprising to you, it’s time for you to start reading the DCUM college board. Chicago is famous for taking a lot of high-scoring kids who apply in the early round (especially from private high schools). Since it’s currently March, and only the early round has been announced, Chicago is presently overrepresented. Schools like Georgetown that admit high-scoring students in the regular round will be more heavily represented later on.

I thought this forum would perhaps have details on acceptances at other area high schools. This is one of many measures of how the schools are performing.
