I agree a lot would have moved with him. Kids get attached to coaches. But objectively he stole them. He broke USA Swimming rules (which have no teeth) and actively recruited the best swimmers while setting up his new club. He was so bold as to advertise himself and his new club email address on the York site.
We are not attached to either club but I was surprised this season when they were at one of the first meets. I was timing on deck and the other club kids were talking about them (timing is the best) and all the drama surrounding them. The consensus in the kid's words was that team has a supervillain origin story and chose a name to match.
