My child had an ASD diagnosis, so we were able to get a 1:1 aide for 4 hours a day at daycare through an ABA company. Insurance covered it.
I would ask the preschool why they are requesting this, so you can follow up accordingly.

We got an ABA aide (RBT) for our ASD preschooler through the Language and Behavior Center in Silver Spring. They didn't a lot of specific ABA training, they mainly helped him calm down when upset, helped with potty training, and helped mediate interactions with the other kids. Insurance covered a lot of the cost because we had an ASD diagnosis.

Is there a specific reason for their request? is it for behavior related? task related? Figuring out what they want a shadow to do will help with recommendations

My son’s (2.5 y/o) preschool is requesting that we find him an aide to shadow him in class. Does anyone have any recommendations ? Thank you!
