And make sure you keep the receipt from the store for 7 years like your tax return. I had to return the old router for a different company. 3-4 months later, I got a message from the company saying they had no record of me returning it. They charged me some ridiculous amount like $300 for it on my monthly bill saying I refused to return the equipment. Luckily I had not recycled the receipt but still I had to call back multiple times to prove it and sort it out. Finally they refunded it.

Oh yes. This happened to us years ago with Cox Cable. It was very annoying. And the place they wanted us to physically return it was only open during working hours. I was steaming.

Xifinity decides that I need new router, sends it to me, without any instructions on what to do with the old one or even any warning about a fee that might be due if I don't drop it off. Me, being stupid, ask Xfinity what to do with the old router, and turns out they want me to drop it off at their closest store, which is 7 miles away. And I only have 14 days to do it otherwise I get charged a fee. WTF?? I asked about getting a prepaid label and a box for it, and they say nope, I have to physically drop it off at the store. Anyone else experienced this!? Is there a way around this?
