Not OP. DD has a math tutor for the first time for AP Pre-Calc, although she is generally a mathy kid who has breezed through all previous math classes. It's a combination of terrible teacher, intentionally more difficult curriculum, and extremely difficult tests. She was teaching herself using online resources for the better part of the year. None of this is likely to change next year, as the school's math teaching team is terrible in general, and the other two that teach AP Calc are about as bad.

Which school?

Ask the math department and see about free tutoring from math honor society.

Have you checked into Wyzant? You can also ask for a tutor list from FCPS. Many of the teachers there are HS math teachers.

Any recommendations for a private tutor or company for pre-calc and most likely continuing into calc next year? Thanks
