We drive to RSM from Mt Pleasant. My child needs in person instruction and there is really nothing closer for acceleration. If online works for you, then online RSM or Beast Academy are both worth a try.

We drive to RSM Chevy Chase from Adams Morgan - you’d be surprised what they consider grade level. In grade 3 all the kids are simplifying equations. But year before we did Beast academy online and it is absolutely wonderful.

I paid for Beast Academy. Hands-down it's the best because it focuses on teaching critical thinking in math. Not rote memorization.

If she is ahead in math I would enroll in the math competition program at RSM and not the grade level class. Very different program, more challenging, more complex problems.

My DD starting doing online RSM in the 2nd grade and its worked out so well. Not having to commute saves so much time and we can do a late evening class and she goes straight to bed afterwards. This means that it rarely conflicts with other commitments. She's been doing this for 3 years and next year we are going to have my son start.

Beast Academy online sounds like a great fit.

OP here. We're in Mt. Pleasant, so just east of the park. Russian School is feasible (about 30 minutes each way), but I'd love something even closer. She's in 3rd grade, but at a 4th grade level (so not a math genius, but definitely wants more challenges and advanced material). She loves math.

“NW”? There’s parts of northwest that are 29 minutes apart so you need to be more specific than that.

My kid loves math. She’s a bit above grade level, but not a savant or anything. We’ve done Mathnasium, but she wants more of a challenge, more puzzles, etc.

Are there any fun, interesting math programs in DC (or within 29 minutes from NW)?
