Actually it’s pretty bad compared to a lot of others. Not that many posters (low volume) and strong “women should suffer” vibes and posters don’t typically gave good/correct info. I check in here bc I’m a long time user of the parenting forums BUT I’d recommend looking for other forums. I’m not going to mention the other forums by name bc dc urban mom types would ruin the vibes of the other forums but look for your tribe elsewhere if this place feels off and you can certainly find better sources of info.

You might, my dd dragged me into a cycle whenever she had one until we had to put her on bcp for recurrent ovarian cysts. I was 45 when she started and even now, she gets a period every 3 months when she takes a placebo week and it’s usually enough to drag me into it, although I’m at 92 days right now.

Vasectomies are not foolproof. You need a stash of pregnancy tests, OP. At 45, you can absolutely become pregnant, even if your husband has a vasectomy. If not that, then it's likely that you're progressing in your perimenopause. You can either continue to wait, or go to the Gyn. They might do bloodwork, and do a transvaginal ultrasound to check for cysts and fibroids and stuff, just to be on the safe side.

And if you’re pregnant, plz report back so we can all be horrified with you. And relieved it isn’t us!

I’d take a pregnancy test just to be sure. Then just wait. Period regularity got really weird for me toward the end (but more like at 52, not 45).

50 year old here. Last year I had only 3 periods. This year, so far- one that lasted 2 days. Not concerned at all.

If you buy a pregnancy test today your period will start tomorrow.

Normal. Keep tracking and discuss at your annual appointment.

Totally normal. I only had 4 periods last year at 48.

I would say this is totally normal. Periods get wonky in peri. Mine started coming closer together but many other women have them go longer and longer between cycles until they stop. If the only symptom is that you are "late" and definitely not pregnant at 45, I wouldn't be concerned.

Someone else can chime in here if they disagree. If you are really concerned, you could message your Gyn via their portal.

I’m 45yo. My period is really late. Periods have been heavier for the past year and cycle has been variable by 3 days, plus or minus. But this one is totally off and I’m nervous. Last cycle was 26 days and now I’m on day 41 and period still hasn’t come. It’s never been this late. Husband had a vasectomy about 7 years ago, so def not pregnant. Is this normal for perimenopause or do I need to call the doctor?
