You obviously have never played Coppermine.

As a DC resident who plays for a HG club, this does not move the needle for us but it is a start in them starting a new chapter and potentially keeping DC kids in DC.

Yawn.
It’s a b team in DC just like it’s a B team in Virginia (McLean, STJ) and Maryland. No different than what there was last year.

Sure, but there’s a lot more to offer with MLS Next Academy than with ECNL, assuming they are dumping the latter. The MLS name alone will make the club look more prestigious and draw the DC type right in the door

But everyone knows MLS Division 2 is the same exact thing as RL. There's nothing prestigious about MLS B teams.

They will be in the Virginia division, no Coppermine there.

They are being super vague about the level on the website.

It says academy division all over FAQs.

+1. I think that only some parts of the website were updated.

The club has loose standards across the board, so it will definitely be better for the younger players who will get trained to meet MLS Next standards rather than the opaque set currently used.

Agree- likely better for the younger teams down the road.

Seems to be a location decision by MLS, access to a city market, they may not be strong now but they will add players.

Aspire. There has been a lot of discussion about this already. MLSN2, super exciting. Search on this forum please before starting a redundant topic.

Hadn’t heard any announcement, but apparently DC Soccer Club is recruiting players for higher levels of competition.

Now all elite players have a home club in DC!
