I obviously don’t know much about this man. I do know that for many, especially men who are people of color, going into a shop “to get warm” is often not going to be met with kindness. And I can imagine that since he, reportedly, spoke no English, and had impaired vision, getting help might be extremely difficult. It’s also easy to imagine that he might not want to contact the police even if he was able to do so.
The ICE agents involved need to be held accountable for this man’s death and the horrors of his last few days. This is such a cruel, unnecessary tragedy.

Barbaric. This is not how we should treat our fellow human beings. ICE needs to go the way of USAID!

A blind man who didn’t speak English, carrying a cane and who had kids who were waiting for him just dumped at a location not his home and left to freeze to death.

Man, that’s cold. Even for ICE. They’re going to have to answer for that level of disregard for human life.

This is why local governments are choosing not to help ICE in its reckless disregard for human life.
