Always back into the spot so you can easily get out without hitting anyone.

It’s a PITA for sure. A small car is much easier. But I mean, what can you do. If you need a third row, just make sure it has good cameras (they all do now) and plan to have to work a little harder at parking.

How many seats do you need?
I went from Subaru Forester to Honda CR-V. Extra space in trunk & backseat (but still just 5 seats).

Are you talking about parallel parking? You will have to learn how to judge size of space, how to line up, when to turn wheels. Just like any new car.

Most park themselves these days. Even my 2017 Ford Edge.

I just switched from a crv to a Pilot. It’s definitely different. Most spaces are big enough it’s not an issue. Some lots have very narrow spaces and you just have to oark further away. That’s what I do anyway, I don’t want door dings

I have a Toyota Grand Highlander and never have an issue parking in the city.

You are not a good driver and parker if you are worried about this. It's the same as parking any other car, you go in the middle of the space. If a space is too tight, you find another one.

If you are a good driver and a good parker, what is your concern? A few of the spaces will be too small for a bigger suv. Most will be fine. Just like you got used to a compact suv vs a sedan, you can get used to a bigger suv

I am looking to go from a compact SUV -> midsize. We do a lot of road trips and need the comfort. I'm worried about parking it on the street and in parking lots, we are in Bethesda and frequently go to Woodmont Triangle and Rockville. Is this something you get used to? Parking a compact SUV is hard enough....but I'm a good driver and good parker...Any advice?
