how many families in MoCo can afford a private school for even 1 kid, in addition to things like swim or other year round activities costing $10K-$12K? are there really many people choosing public school for their kids when they could afford private?

A few people on here hate fun apparently. The private school piece makes sense.

Swim season no different to normal for teams like ours that have both am and pm practice. And for year round swimmers, it makes no difference as summer practices are unimportant anyway.

Also, this is one of many reasons why we send/sent our kids to private schools. Extending the school year is just not a thing. It has never happened and our oldest kids are in college.

Seriously, what's the point of this? To just tell other people their feelings and experience is wrong? Do you feel superior?

No. Some may simply be unaware that they can finish with school in early June and have a normal summer by going to a private school. I have no doubt some publics provide a fine education particularly if parents are engaged and motivated. But the public norm of going to school into the teens and 20s of June (or late 20s(!) in snow years) is a 100% non-starter. How do they waste so much time??

Anyone who enjoys their summer team?

No, most of us don't really care that much.

It is important for private school parents to make known to the world that their kids go to private school. They pay all of this money and want recognition, in some form, for the expenditure. That's why you see all of the magnets and sweatshirts and jackets.

If we were able to do a year of virtual learning, why can't we bring it back a couple of times a year in order to avoid adding make-up snow days?

It’s also screwing up clubs that don’t practice in a LC pool until school is out.

So with a last day of school on June 26, we’ll have…

- Afternoon practices through the day before the 3rd A Meet
- 2 B Meets on school nights
- Time trials with 3 weeks left in the school year

Absolutely crazy.
