Bangles aren’t near as good as the love bracelet because the love bracelet is much tighter and you wear it nonstop. Bangles drive me crazy with how big they are on me and I forget to wear them.

I think a ton of jewelry looks cheap, even if it's cartier or VCA.

I would not know the difference between the fancy and the cheap stiff.

I just assume they must really like a brand if they wear multiples of it. But I don't always know what all the stuff is, either. I guess I might assume they like "basic" or "mainstream" looks but that's not a bad thing. Certain styles are popular for a reason.

Not all replicas are cheap. You can get replicas that are real gold, and have beautiful workmanship, custom made by jewelers.

Maybe it's fake, maybe it's not. Does it matter? Wear what you like, buy what you can afford. If it bothers you that someone might think your $12,000 VCA piece is just a cheap Temu imitation, then I don't know how to help you.

I would agree with this and I have an Alhambra necklace. It was given to me as a gift; I likely never would've bought one myself.

I think my style is pretty basic. My average winter outfit is a sweater, jeans, and loafers. Like this poster is saying, it's fine but not anything unique or great.

I think that they have nice but very basic style and value things that are both beautiful and highly recognizable. They value wealth signifiers. As far as actual style goes, when we talk about whether or not someone is a "stylish" person -- an Alhambra bracelet, a Love bracelet ... these things convey a certain kind and level of style that is not bad and not great. It's nice. It's fine. It's basic. I wouldn't mind an Alhambra bracelet in tiger eye (because tiger eye is special to me). But I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. The love bracelets are beautiful. My MIL gifts them to all her granddaughters so my DD has a few which she likes to wear stacked. I don’t have any opinion about what others choose to wear.

There are a lot of threads about this already. Yes, many of us on DCUM look down on trendy luxury jewelry. Plenty of others rock it proudly.

If you choose to buy frequently copied pieces many people will assume you are wearing fakes whether or not you actually are. It's up to you whether this bothers you.

I’ve had my Cartier love bracelets for a long time. They are over 1oz of gold, so they do have actual value. I personally wish they were just gold, without the screw markings. They’re so comfortable to wear and durable. It’s been years since I have taken them off, other than to clean them. VCA isn’t as durable and some of the colors are pretty fragile.

The older I get the more things I accumulate.

A stack of Cartier and Van Cleef bracelets, the necklace and the certain watch, etc. etc. etc. Maybe I’m watching too many TikTok‘s about this, but it almost is starting to feel cheap like I think if I see someone in these particular items I assume that they’re fake and these people are shallow?
