Worse for a longer part of the year

We go to Kiawah every year in August and, honestly, I don't think it's worse than DC. The upper 80s-temps- with high dew points may actually be more comfortable than the DC 90s with Dew points in the 70s

Is DC not downright tropical with 70-75 dew points in July/Aug. It's not that different, it's not like Savannah gets up to 80-85 dew points. Have you been in DC in July during a very humid stretch?

I’m the poster you’ve replied to, and I don’t really know much about dew points, but I’ll just repeat that to me, it felt much worse in coastal SC than in downtown DC. Maybe the nights are hotter there so it felt absolutely saturated? DC feels east coast hot to me—SC like I’m near the equator.

No - I have a house just outside Charleston. July and August are hot at the peak of the day, but bugs are not a problem. June is the month for no-see-ums, but there is spray.

But OP, do SC beaches in May, September or October if it is for a whole vacation.

I garden at 7:00 a.m. and walk in the evening. If outside in the afternoon, I am in the pool.

It's actually almost the same most days. Of course it gets that way earlier in the season at Charleston, but at peak summer the dew point is almost always within a couple degrees.

This is my specialty as a runner who hates running in humid conditions. Just look at the dew point. It's not much different at all from DC during the summer. I'm sure you can google/do an AI prompt for "average dew point" and you'll find it's not much different at all.

I've gone to a SC beach every summer for the past 30 summers. The heat and humidity varies, but is not that much worse than DC, and sometimes it is better. Additionally, if you are right on the beach, you have a nice ocean breeze.

I'm thinking of trying some SC beaches since I've never been but wondering how the SC heat and humidity compares to NOVA. Not only in peri but also have medical issues regarding regulation and want to be prepared for what to expect. Doing research and it's confusing since every site gives different figures for temp/humidity when I try to compare so I'm looking for 1st hand accounts. Thank you in advance.
