Same boat. I’ve tried so many and just haven’t found one I like- drying or too much tint or too orange. I really think the key is to a separate out the tint from the SPF, as someone mentioned. I also like Elta MD UV clear as a sunscreen and use it. It’s actually all I use at the moment. I plan to try Typology tinted serum. There is no SPF. I feel like this gives me more agency to dilute or use less since I will already have SPF underneath. Once
I get I will report back!

I love the Ilia serum but it has somewhat fuller coverage than the others. Saie is nice if you want glowy skin with lighter coverage.

good tip! okay assume I apply elta md clear under whatever tinted moisturizer I use - then I’m looking for something moisturizing and light feel with skincare benefits, added spf is a bonus. still the “my skin but better” look.

My derm warned me that you are never getting anywhere near the advertized SPF of any tinted moisturizer because it just isn't cosmetically reasonable to apply the amount of the tinted moisturizer you would need to get the SPF. Instead, you end up applying a thin layer so that the tint looks good and not crazy, and the SPF is way less than it should be that way.

I’m mid 50s and have adopted the philosophy of spending more (time and money) on skincare than makeup. I want to replace foundation with an spf-heavy tinted moisturizer - goals being light feel, skin care
focused, “my skin but better” look.

Do you have a brand/product you recommend for this? I’m open to any but currently considering Drmtlgy spf tinted moisturizer, Saie tinted moisturizer with spf, Ilia skin tint serum, Supergoop Protect(int), and good old Elta MD tinted sunscreen.
