It’s as good of a plan as any, even if the pool isn’t heated. Most kids don’t particularly care. However just keep in mind some kind of a backup plan in case it’s 68 and rainy, which seems to be the case most Memorial Day weekends these days.

My kid would care. Heated vs not heated makes a big difference here.

My kids have Feb and March birthdays so we never had the option of an outdoor pool party. We have been invited to Memorial Day parties where it was raining or we were still wearing long sleeves.

We had pool party for kids’ friends mid June afternoon, not a bday party, and luckily it was warm and the weather’s nice. There’s risk of bad weather causing outdoor pool closure, or too cold, especially for a pool party, you’ll need a plan B or indoor pool ( but most indoor pools, like recenter pools, require certain number of parents to be in water at the same time, depending on kids ages).

The issue is water temp, not outdoor temp.

Heated pool, yes, but otherwise most kids except team kids wouldn't go in. Too cold.

There are plenty of indoor pools to rent for b-day

If it’s not heated, it will be cold. But kids usually can deal with it. The bigger variable is the air temperature. Mem Day weekend always seems cold and rainy.

Would you risk it? I was thinking late afternoon with an early dinner, but could shift to morning/lunch instead. This would be for 10yo’s
