A winter coat!
I grew up there and it can be cold during the day but it's definitely cold at night until the very end of June!

Warm clothes and wind-resistant outerwear. It tends to stay cool in the Hamptons well into the spring because of the wind blows off of the water.

It will be pretty cold there, especially on the beach. Pack warm layers, but have your winter coat handy.

I’ve never been to Long Island, let alone in early Spring.

What would you wear during this cool season in comparison to what we would wear in the DMV weather?
