It is just that this type of status-driven, deciding your worth by your kid's school admission is so stupid.

Last year for lower school, Holton sent a winter hat, a bracelet and maybe a bookmark along with a nice note and acceptance certificate.
Stone Ridge sent a magnet and maybe some stickers.
Norwood sent confetti with instructions to open outside, which I appreciated.

DC got swag from open houses (key chain, branded tin of mints) and then from shadow days. Came home with a water bottle and a lanyard from both, and I think a small notebook from one (9th grade application). There was a t-shirt after that, but I can’t now remember if that was something they got with the acceptance or at orientation.

All of it is basically cheap junk. The t-shirt is fine, but it wasn’t an athletic uniform t-shirt so not useful for that. DC wears it on school spirit days once or twice a year and that’s it.

One kid has applied for 4th and the other for 6th at several big 3/4/5 schools. I know we may a few disappointments coming on admissions day, and want them to get excited about the options they end up having. What gear or swag did schools send to admitted students last year?
