Oh my word. Everyone I see seasonal decor for sale in the store, I picture all of it in the landfill. It helps me avoid buying. Pick your favorite holiday and decorate for that.

I only add in a few things, like a pink tablecloth for valentines. The kids love to make signs for me to put up. Like for Valentines, they all made valentines hearts with faces and legs.

Instead of decorating, I spend a lot of time with themed books. I just brought out our St. Patrick's Day books. The kids love to hear Irish stories, folklore and also some cheesy ones about catching leprechauns. After that, then comes the Easter books. It's become a really big tradition now.

I decorate every season including my first floor bathroom. Our friends always love to see what it looks like for the season. I decorate inside and outside.

Spring comes in March 1st.

Before that is Valentine's Day/hearts. That comes out Feb 1.

All Christmas is down by Jan 6th.

I always have a wreath on my front door. In December, it's a pre-lit one I bought at Costco and I use the colored lights option. I keep it up in January but select white lights. February - a Valentine heart. I just changed out my Valentine's decor today so now I have a shamrock wreath up. Depending on when Easter falls, the shamrock will come down and I have an Easter wreath - colored eggs on a wreath. May is a red, white and blue wreath for Memorial Day. It gets put out again in July for the 4th of July. June is just a flower wreath that I also use in August. In late August, I have a back to school wreath. October and November is fall themed.

I have seasonal towels for my powder room, several seasonal throws for the couch and several season table linens. I also buy seasonal hand soap from Bath and Body Works for the powder room and kitchen sink.

It takes me 10 minutes to change out my decor most months. Fall and Christmas I have significantly more decor but the rest of the year, it's just small touches.

You're all a bunch of armatures. I've already got my Christmas stuff up for 2026. You can never be too early!

This is about what I do, too - although I recognize Christmas as a separate season that runs from the day after Thanksgiving until early January.

Mid September I move to fall decorations. Then shift to winter stuff in early December.

Skipped Vday and am now trying to get motivated to take down my winter decor and pull out St. Paddy's day stuff. Maybe tonight.

Haters gonna hate. this sounds cute! I don't have the patience so I just switch things up on my mantle and I do it when I remember lol.

Most of my Christmas stuff is out at New Years. Then I decorate with snow people and snow themed things. Valentines comes out about 2 weeks before Valentine’s Day. It will be replaced with St. Patrick’s and then Easter and spring. The spring/ summer stays out until early September or October when I decorate
For fall and Halloween. Fall stays up until after Thanksgiving at which point Christmas stuff comes out.

As for how much we do, Fall and Christmas are the most. We do a lot for Halloween as well. Spring and summer are pretty sparse.

WTF is "Valentine's decor"??? Other than the collection of storebought valentines and plastic tat my elementary schooler brought home from their school party and left all over the living room.

When do you change it out? I had my Christmas tree the entire month of January since I was too lazy to put it away and just had my Valentine's decor for two weeks. I haven't really done much decorating with seasonal items (other than my tree and some kitchen towels) until now so I am curious what you all do. When does Valentine's go out in your house and Spring stuff come in? I still have some holiday stuff that is not red or green but blends in for winter decor.
