But only with discussion with the boss boss and their agreement. I had a former employee do that once (skipped me and put my boss) and my boss let me know/asked me for feedback. In my case I think he did it bc my boss’s title was much more impressive rather than ill will. As far as I know!

This is a situation when you use a trusted friend to be your stand in supervisor/job reference for a situation like this to get a fair shot at moving on to further employment.

I have been applying for jobs and it is always the same story. Great interviews, discussion of the contract etc. and after that ghosted every time. I worked at some point for an awful boss, they praised my technical work publicly but could not stand me on a personal level and even convinced the management to give me a bonus to leave. I don’t put this ex boss in my references but have to name them as supervisor in my employment history. This person is a very toxic narcissist, how can I escape their vengeance?
