We used them for IAD to LHR several times. The lowest I’ve seen it is 10k points one way.

With fees like that, not sure that's much of a deal at all. I looked on some dates in March and you can fly SAS with a short stop in Copenhagen to Zurich for under $700 for regular economy (including a checked bag). Now if you got that for summer yes it's a good deal.

That’s Heathrow. Always high fees even to transfer.
