There is no way he will be the Democrat nominee. He is the largest source of untapped natural gas in the galaxy!

Why would you assume he's a democrat?

It's obvious.

I'm not sure why you think it is obvious. Smith has spent a lot more time criticizing Democrats than he has criticizing Trump

This. The next 3 or 4 presidents are going to have a task to rebuild our institutions and regain trust on the world stage.

He has very good name recognition. Everyone who follows sports knows who he is. And while I do enjoy his skill for clownish behavior and buffoonery when making arguments, he has the same narcissistic tendencies as a fascist. We definitely need more of him around for his insight and punditry, however, and I'm glad he's broadened his commentary from sports to other issues.

This CBS Sunday Morning profile covers the rise of ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith from a struggling kid in Queens to a multi-million dollar media powerhouse. Here's the breakdown:
Career & Style: Smith is known for his "swaggering sports talk" and high-energy debates on First Take, which has been number one for 13 years [03:42]. He pushes back against critics who call him "Screaming A. Smith," noting that white commentators are often called "passionate" for the same behavior [04:18].
Backstory: Growing up in Hollis, Queens, Smith dealt with dyslexia. His father once called him a "lost cause," a remark Smith says hurt for a long time until he proved him wrong [02:10]. His proudest moment remains the day he signed his ESPN contract and told his mother she never had to work another 16-hour nursing shift again [03:06].
Political Ambitions: While he claims to have "zero desire" to be a politician, he hasn't ruled out running for president [05:42]. He describes himself as a fiscal conservative but a social liberal [06:14]. He is spending 2026 studying the issues and considering a spot on the 2027 debate stage [06:59].
