It certainly feels like it. It is a small pond . With expansion of new building things will change, but the small scale really suits us. The kids that have left tech want a big pond, more typical high school environment. The ones that have stayed or transferred in enjoy the size and focused program.

That’s not the the extent of the plans, which they keep changing on the go. There are many people concerned about it, including teachers at Langston

We are evaluating whether to accept an offer. What is the best way to learn more given all that is in flux? Thought I’d ask here since we could help the waitlist move if we decline.

We’re waitlisted and have a friend at 150 or so on the wait list. It’s not TJ but it’s not a trade school.

Arlington Tech is different from Arlington Career Center. It offers a unique opportunity for students to earn a significant amount of DE credit or even an associate's degree. We are looking at both AT (got in) and TJ (waiting until April to find out)

Its a tale of two cities.

A handful of admits to a couple of Ivy, and notably Carnegie Mellon. But missing GATech, MIT, CalTech, Berkeley, Stanford really dampens the “Tech” emphasis of the school. Some RIT and FIT admits, but really not a feeder to engineering schools or elite schools

The vast majority go to GMU, JMU; UVA was kind of surprisingly weak.

I think the DE really draws students who have no plans to go OOS, so its a feeder to the VCU, JMU, GMU crowd, who can save significant tuition this way. Top academics, engineering, and science are not its emphasis, not anything like a mini TJ.

I also heard of someone who was in the hundreds.

I know someone who is 100 on the waitlist so it goes at least that deep

Have you looked at their college acceptances for this year? I would not exactly call it only a trade school.

It seems like the new expansion of Arlington Tech has allowed everyone that wanted to go there to get in
