I think the answer lies in this response. The interest is so high that parents analyze the ratios of teams at tournaments from different areas. There could be a dissertation on why people in this area feel so validated by ECNL hats, SupaCopa shirts and MLS Next badges. Instead of enjoying your kid performing and assessing where they are in their development journey, people analyze and project whether their team should win via the rankings app and try to fire the coach if they lose to an unworthy team. A young Carol Dweck protege could have a field day and build a career studying parenting through soccer in this area.

Parents validate their self worth via soccer clubs in the DMV and the market is supplying the product to satisfy their desires.

The OP is not wrong. Look at the Futsal regional cup in Atlantic City this weekend. We have 6 teams from this area competing. Where other groups seem to only send about 1 team per state.

Supply and demand.

I would run from any program and their parents who solely want to be competitive and win in the youth stages.

It seems to me that we have too many clubs in the DMV. Talent gets spread too thin for the area to be nationally competitive with other areas. Why do we have this density problem here?
