I haven’t purchased at Target in a while, mainly bc I just haven’t had time to browse and my kids are now teens with their own preferences. I and they have some good quality stuff from Old Navy and also H and M. Though with the same suggestion of waiting for sales and offers. I think old navy clothes are expensive at full price! H and M, I skip the polyester, but they do good cotton, even some organic cotton etc. and they have super cute kids clothes.
For my son, he wears a school uniform, but almost everything else he has is from a thrift store. And it’s Under Armor, Nike, adidas, etc. he has a North face coat from eBay. I started doing that when he was young and was soooo rough on his clothes.
If you want good deals at Target, I recommend getting the app and tracking sales. They discount clothes all the time. Usually at least 20% but they will also do BOGO for certain kids items sometimes or bigger discounts, especially right before they switch out for a new season.
My DD likes the All in Motion gear for summer and the Cat & Jack leggings and tees year round. So I just track prices on those items and place an order when they go on sale. Shipping is free if your order is over $35. It's definitely in my rotation of affordable clothing options for kids, but you have to be smart.
target does put its clothes on sale, you know. so you don't have to go in and pay full price!
i got DH a bunch if all in motion for xmas at 40% off. pants were 20 or so. everything else was less than that.
kids clothes. kid to kid or once upon a child. if you buy ahead you can get pieces for 50 - 75 off their prices or even $1 or 50 cents. they even have fill a bag for 10 dollars. clothes don't have to be expensive.
my grands happily wear stuff from kid to kid all.the.time! polo shirts, ralph lauren dresses, stuff from janie and jack, etc..
For cheap kids stuff that is decent quality we like Children's Place which has a lot of stackable sales and coupons. It's also even cheaper if you're willing to ship to store and pick up there. Carters is also great.
We also buy multipacks of sweatpants, hoodies etc from Amazon.
For things like snow boots, raincoats, etc we tend to shop secondhand. Local Facebook groups are a good source, to both buy and sell especially if you live in a richer area. Kid 2 Kid in Rockville is excellent for seasonal items and they often send text coupons.
I think Old Navy and H&M are better quality. I buy Men’s T-shirts from ON and they’ve lasted forever. Target tshirts get all stretched out in the neck which I hate. I agree with the PP that tariffs are causing all prices to go up.
