This might be the winner!

Yes, Savannah, Ga. Beautiful, historic, greatest ice cream in the world.

You are going to think I am nuts but I love Baltimore for this.

People love Charleston but the two times I was there I just keep thinking about the enslaved people who did all the work.

Also look into the various historic towns along the Hudson River valley.

That’s not drivable, or within a short plane ride lol. Looking for a long weekend not a full trip.

My DH and I are looking to schedule a long weekend getaway, 3 or maybe even 4 nights, to celebrate the sale of a house.

Preferably drivable or short flight from DC. But bonus points for drivable, even if the drive is long. Atmosphere, historic hotels with a good spa, good food, a healthy arts scene, quaint shopping, etc. all super welcome. Just not New Orleans (I love NOLA, but used to live there and get back with some regularity, so looking for something different). Recent short trips we have enjoyed include Fallingwater and the Omni Bedford Springs (decent resort for where it is, 10/10 spa), and The Williamsburg Inn at Colonial Williamsburg. So I guess we like history?
