The exception to daycare is the wildest and most illogical of them all. I wonder what wild and crazy mental gymnastics you lept through to get to that exception. I think if you have them in daycare, don’t worry about isolating them from anything.

Daycare seems to me like the worst risk of all. An infant room is going to have close to 0% vaccination rate. If you're serious about germ exposure, get a nanny.

First of all, "except for daycare" is an enormous "except". Daycare is a huge source of germ exposure.

But even aside from that, unless you only have one child, I don't see how keeping a baby away from public places for 12 - 15 months is doable.
Do parents really never go to the grocery store with their baby, never go to an event at older sibling's school, never eat in a restaurant, never fly to visit grandma . . . ? I have trouble imagining that life.

Waiting for the two month vaccine or till spring for a baby born RSV season? Maybe. But a year?

Herd immunity especially for measles protected the unvaccinated for a long time. It's breaking through now. Kids and babies die of measles. I didn't go anywhere until my kids had their 2 month shots and then was careful until 6 months. But this was 10 years ago.

This was not practical for us. We both need to work OOH. We instead used a privately-operated daycare/preschool that required all adults and children to be vaccinated to the (pre-RFK) CDC schedule.

As an example, if old enough for Measles vaccine, then that vaccine was mandatory to be in their premises.

Don't trust vaccines? Then one can use a different daycare provider. Private businesses can set their own rules.

Too young to be vaccinated need to be home. Obviously if a family member or friend needs help I’ll babysit but we will all wash hands.

Parents choosing not to vaccinate? We don’t associate with idiots and sociopaths.

They can't play with your kids ?

You will not babysit them?

They can't be around other babies or strangers for X amount of time?

Or, are you the worst risk to them?
