No. Don't get your hopes up, OP, it's always going to be nearly impossible to get in

They should just dump a bunch of blacked out admissions files with nothing relevant present. Black out scores, race, gpa, addresses, FA, leave almost nothing and go “here ya go”

"The Attorney General is demanding decades of admissions data while giving us only a few months to comply. This is an administrative impossibility. These files represent a deep historical record spanning years of complex academic policy; you cannot expect an institution to undo and audit twenty years of records in twenty days just because a new administration has a sudden interest in them. We are working as fast as a 'monster' of a filing system allows, but we will not be rushed into a sloppy release that violates student privacy just to satisfy a recent political deadline."

"While we understand the Attorney General’s interest, Harvard is bound by strict federal protections under FERPA that mandate the total confidentiality of student records. We cannot unilaterally bypass these privacy rights. Furthermore, our internal deliberation files are protected by academic freedom and institutional privilege; releasing these documents prematurely or without exhaustive redaction would compromise the integrity of our scholarly environment and the personal privacy of our community members."

What about the massive resistance occurring in top schools since the affirmative action ban case?

This. The irony of them complaining that anyone else “has slow-walked the pace of production and refused to provide pertinent documents.” 🙄

The US DOJ is a sad lawless entity now with a political agenda. I'd say it's a joke except this is all too serious.

The suit was filed today in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.

“Harvard has thwarted the Department’s efforts to investigate potential discrimination,”

“It has slow-walked the pace of production and refused to provide pertinent documents relating to applicant-level admissions decisions.”

Bondi said. “Harvard has failed to disclose the data we need to ensure that its admissions are free of discrimination — we will continue fighting to put merit over DEI across America.”

If I were H's counsel, I'd call out the hypocrisy of accusing H of slow walkign the pace of production. See, eg the Epstein files.
