This is the table we have . . . in the second to last photo, you can see what the chair style looks like with the table:

Are they comfortable? They look sooo uncomfortable.

They are, and we spend a lot of time sitting around that table. They are basic wood chairs, which I find to be comfortable for dining. If you prefer upholstered chairs, then you might be disappointed.

We've had the previous version of this chair in our kitchen for 10+ years and find them very comfortable. However, everyone in our family is on the smaller side.

Should have added: I would like the recommendation of someone who has sat on them if I can't sit on them. And I am wiling to pay for real wood chairs.

Got any antique stores or vintage stores nearby? You'll get real, solid wood as opposed to pressed wood like PB or RH.

Pottery Barn Summerville or Aaron. Or if you are ok with buying used, the PB Napoleon chairs are classic and durable.

I don’t know if they will look too commercial to you but for small, comfortable, sturdy chairs for a low price the Lancaster chairs from webstaurantstore are great.

I need suggestions for dining chairs. We just had a trestle table made for the dining area in our kitchen. We don't have a dining room. The table is 30 inches wide because we didn't have space for a wider one. Chairs must be smallish but sturdy for different sized people. Because our house is in upstate NY where it gets cold in the winter, we prefer a cushioned seat but would consider the option of adding a cushion to the seat. We don't have many stores to sit on actual furniture here so are looking for recommendations. "Farmhouse" is probably the best way to describe what style we are looking for Looking for good quality wood chairs - willing to pay up to $400 or so for the right ones. Any recommendations for sturdy, smallish, comfortable, classic dining chairs?
