Thank you! That's what I was thinking and that is also closer. I am hoping this isn't needed, and I am not en route to Charlottesville yet.

This is true and where my UVA kid went. BUT, the lines are very long. Your child may be waiting forever. But I've heard that also about Martha-Jefferson. Can an Emergency Clinic handle this?

Glad your kid is ok, for future questions likes this, is there a UVA parents group? you will get far better answers there with current info. my answer was based on ER visits to UVA years ago.

Thanks, all. Sincerely appreciate all the input. I’m happy to report DC did not need to visit the ER.

I had thought of course the UVA ER was the logical choice, but looked online and hadn’t realized there was another nearby ER option.

Forgot to mention: if there is a MedEvac in a multi-county area nearby, it always goes to UVA Hospital

UVa ER is by far the best in a multi-county area around C'ville. Do not go elsewhere.

Why go clear across town when the UVA Medical Center is on campus?

We have had good experiences at UVA ER. I hope she's ok.

My DD started her semester with an overnight at the UVA ER and they were exceptional. Gave me peace of mind as we were not able to be there. She has had a lot of follow ups at UVA student health & wellness, and the doctor she sees there has also been exceptional. Good luck - hope all is okay.

My UVA student is waiting on bloodwork results after a visit to student health, and may need to go to the ER (we don't know yet).

If my UVA student does need to go to the ER this afternoon, does anyone with experience have suggestions the UVA ER versus the Sentara ER?
