Which STEM? CS and Engineering are a much harder admit, than, say, Bio.
Bio is competitive too, as many want to do premed.

Yeah, no. It is much more complicated than that. It depends so much on major/college, for one. Plenty of kids outside of the in-state top 5% applied and are certainly not guaranteed admission. Even the auto-admits are not guaranteed their desired major which for many is still a rejection.

I never understood that about auto-admits. So they may not get their major choice - but they still get any major in COLA or just non-impacted ones?

Yeah, no. It is much more complicated than that. It depends so much on major/college, for one. Plenty of kids outside of the in-state top 5% applied and are certainly not guaranteed admission. Even the auto-admits are not guaranteed their desired major which for many is still a rejection.

I think whoever were deferred in EA are not getting in. I already know some ppl who got in at my son’s school.
