We just opened a high school checking account with Chase for my teen. She was offered a $125 bonus if she made 5 debit transactions of any amount in 60 days.

There are lots of banks and credit unions that have low or no fees accounts for students. I have a joint account with all three of my teens at Burke and Herbert.

Where can they take out cash, and are there fees?

Waiting until my kids know where they are going to college, so they will have access to local banking / ATMs. Look forward to hearing what other parents are doing with their kids.

PNC has a good account for students with a large no-fee ATM network.

We partly picked it based on convenience to my son's college. It was closer to the student shopping area. The other national bank was more in the office worker/fancy restaurant area.

We also picked it because it had a branch in our town but now that is moving 10 minutes further away.

Anyone does this recently with some ideas? Dc's balance will not be particularly high so I'm concerned about fees at the larger banks. On the other hand, I don't know what the cheaper online places are like.
