This is what happens at our school from like third grade onward. Some kids bring a bag of Candy to pass out and that’s it.

This seems extremely misogynistic.

definitely not. Only small exchanges among close friends (usually an all-girl thing) or exchanges between couples

Doesn't matter. They're not in school on Christmas yet some gifts are exchanged.

No, they don't. Middle school is peak cringe time between boys and girls. In 6th, they usually insult each other; in 7th, they're all agog with who is interested in who; and in 8th, there can be some serious dating going on (sex talk before that, OP). And then some kids are on a different timeline, of course. But this gives you the general atmosphere in middle school - Valentines are to be given only to your crush, and then only if you can bear the comments from other kids.

My oldest brought cute things for her three best friends. They all brought little trinkets. But nothing organized happened

My DD would get little things for her best friends, but that’s it. The boys do nothing.

No. My 6th grader hasn’t mentioned it. There have been no emails about it. And my working assumption is no.

Do kids in middle school - 6th grade exchange gifts for Valentine’s Day? In elementary school all the kids brought gifts for classmates. Does this still happen in 6th grade? I asked DC and they weren’t sure if the class is exchanging gifts.
